Created based on a reference snapshot provided by mom, this portrait celebrates the young couple's engagement. Working from the photo, I brushstroked and modified the background to make it painterly. Then I created value contrasts with my brushstrokes in the subjects' forms to direct the viewer's focus onto their faces. Facial features and coloring were enhanced in the painting.
